"NEET syllabus 2027 PDF by NTA official website" is one of the most searched phrases of the week, and the honest first answer is short: there is no separate 2027 PDF yet. NEET 2027 is expected to run on the rationalised syllabus NTA notified for 2024 and kept for 2025 and 2026, and that document is the one to read. Here is where it is, and, more usefully, how to read it.
Where the official syllabus is
Two places, both official:
- NTA, under the NEET (UG) section of nta.ac.in, as the syllabus annexure to the information bulletin.
- NMC, the National Medical Commission, which publishes the same syllabus for the undergraduate entrance.
Download it from either. Do not download it from a coaching site that has "reformatted" it; the reformatting is where topics get added back.
Why the chapter headings mislead
The 2024 rationalisation did not delete chapters. It deleted topics inside chapters, so a chapter list of 2027 looks almost identical to 2019's. A student who checks headings sees "Current Electricity, present" and studies the whole chapter, potentiometer and colour code included. Both are out.
The document has two levels. The unit or chapter name is the heading. Under it, one to four lines of topics, separated by semicolons and commas. The topic lines are the syllabus. If a topic is not in those lines, it is not in the paper, whatever the chapter heading says and whatever your book says.
How to read it in an evening
- Print the physics section, chemistry section and biology section separately. Three sittings, not one.
- Open your book to each chapter and read the syllabus topic lines against the book's section headings.
- Strike out every book section whose topic is not in the lines. Physically, with a pen.
- Mark every topic line that your book has no section for. Those are the gaps a book printed before 2024 leaves; they are rare but they exist.
Most students find the physics section takes forty minutes and produces the longest strike-out list. We did the same exercise against 5,338 bank questions and published the result as the deleted-topics list. Use it as the answer key for your evening.
Four lines to read twice
Four clusters are argued about by good teachers because the notified lines are terse: radioactivity, the Bohr and quantum subset of Structure of Atom, magnetisation of materials, and the cockroach as a model organism. Read those lines yourself and make your own call. We serve those questions and mark them contested rather than guess for you; the 2027 bulletin may settle it.
What to do after the strike-out
The remaining topics carry the same 180 questions the deleted ones used to share. The chapters that gained the most weight after 2024 are the ones next to the deletions: the circuit topics of Current Electricity, the endocrine glands, the reproductive system's structure. The chapter weightage table gives the per-paper numbers from thirteen years of papers, and the most-repeated PYQ topics ranks the topics inside them.
FAQ
Is there an official NEET 2027 syllabus PDF?
Not a separate one yet. NEET 2027 is expected to use the rationalised syllabus NTA notified for 2024, kept for 2025 and 2026, published on nta.ac.in and the NMC site.
Is the NEET 2027 syllabus the same as NEET 2026?
Yes, as far as anything is known. NTA has published nothing that changes it, and the 15 May 2026 announcement about computer-based testing did not touch the syllabus.
Which topics are deleted in the NEET 2027 syllabus?
Transistors, the potentiometer, the colour code of carbon resistors, the cooling curve, optical instruments as a standalone topic, taxonomic aids, animal-kingdom classification detail, some reproductive and GI-hormone detail, and vernalisation. The full, question-checked list is in the deleted-topics post.
Should I study from the NCERT even for deleted topics?
No. Read the NCERT for the topics in the syllabus lines; a deleted topic earns nothing in the paper, and the hour is better spent on the chapter's remaining topics, which now carry its weight.
Where can I check if a question is in the 2027 syllabus?
Read the topic lines of the notified syllabus for that chapter. In nextAIR practice, out-of-syllabus questions are withheld by concept; if one appears, the Challenge button reports it.
