"Test series for NEET 2027" and its coaching-branded versions, Allen, PW's Arjuna batch, Aakash, the DLP variants, are among the most searched phrases of the week. The searches are asking a price question. The useful question is a different one: what does a mock have to do for the marks it costs you in hours?
We build one of these series, so read the comparison knowing that. The measures below are ones you can check yourself on any series, including ours, in the first week.
The five things a NEET 2027 mock must do
1. Match the paper's weightage, not the book's order
A mock that gives every chapter equal questions is a chapter test in disguise. The real paper does not: across 2013 to 2026, Molecular Basis of Inheritance averages 5.5 questions, Current Electricity 2.8, and a long tail of chapters average under one. A series should be able to tell you, per chapter, how many questions it asked and why. Ask for that table. If it does not exist, the paper was assembled by hand.
2. Be on a screen, with the NTA palette
Whether or not NEET 2027 is notified as computer-based, the JEE and CUET interfaces are what NTA builds, and the habits they expose, over-spending time on a hard question, forgetting a marked-for-review answer, are the same habits that cost marks on paper. A series that is only a PDF cannot show you your pacing. Sit one screen mock before you commit to any series.
3. Follow the mistake, not just report the score
A score tells you where you were. What moves the next score is what happens to the 40 questions you got wrong. Does the series bring them back? On what schedule? Does it ask why you got them wrong? In our 2026 data the most common cause of a lost mark was a guess, not an unknown concept; a series that only re-teaches the concept fixes the wrong thing.
4. Place you on the real curve
A rank among the series' own students is a rank among people who chose that series. The number that matters is where a score landed nationally. In 2026, the qualifying cut-off was 213 marks; about 446 marks put a student around AIR 1.7 lakh; about 590 marks around AIR 13,000. A series that shows a rank should say which curve it is projecting onto.
5. Fit the time you actually have
Two full mocks a week is 6 hours of sitting and, done properly, 6 more of review. If a series' schedule assumes 12 hours a week you do not have, its mocks become score-checks, which is the least useful thing a mock can be.
How the well-known options measure up

Three things to notice. First, a rank among a series' own takers is a fine motivator and a poor predictor; ask what curve a rank sits on. Second, mistake follow-up is where series differ most: solutions are universal, a schedule that brings the question back is rare. Third, the per-chapter weightage table is the easiest thing to ask for and the rarest thing to be handed.
A way to decide in one week
- Sit one screen mock on any series, ours or theirs. Note your score and, more importantly, where the palette says your time went.
- Take your 40 wrong answers and sort them: guess, misread, did not know. If more than half are guesses, you need a series that brings questions back, not one that re-teaches.
- Ask the series for its per-chapter question counts. Compare them to a published weightage table.
- Only then look at the price.

Is a free test series enough for NEET 2027?
A free series that does the four things above is worth more than a paid one that does not. Price buys teacher time and structure, which some students need; it does not buy a better paper.
How many mocks should I take before NEET 2027?
Fewer than you think, reviewed harder than you think. One full mock a week with a real review of every wrong answer beats three mocks a week with none. In the final six weeks, two a week.
Does the test series need to be in CBT mode?
Practise on a screen regardless. The pacing habits a screen exposes are the ones that cost marks on paper too, and NTA's other exams are already computer-based.
What score should I target in mocks?
Work backwards from the curve. 213 was the 2026 qualifying bar; around 446 marks was AIR 1.7 lakh; around 590 marks was AIR 13,000. Set the tier you are aiming for, then let the mocks show the gap.
